Van Buren, Lysander to discuss merging fire departments
Baldwinsville (WSYR-TV) – The Van Buren and Lysander town boards will meet to discuss a proposed merger of their fire departments.
The Van Buren Town Board will not vote on the proposal at its regular meeting as it had planned because it wants to discuss the concerns that members of the community have raised, one being a tax increase.
People owning a home worth $100,000 would see their taxes increase by $45 a year.
The Tuesday night work session is open to residents in both towns.
There will not be an opportunity for public comment, however.
The meeting at Van Buren Town Hall in Baldwinsville begins at 6 p.m. It will be followed by a regular town meeting.
