Vera House launches awareness campaign
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Vera House has launched a new campaign to raise awareness in the Syracuse area regarding violence against women and girls.
At Manlius Pebble Hill School, the agency joined in an international call to action labeled “One Billion Rising.”
The international campaign is based on the estimate that one in three women will be beaten or raped in their lifetime – a total of 1 billion.
On Thursday, Vera House introduced its three honorary co-chairs for the White Ribbon Campaign Against Domestic and Sexual Violence.
Dan Cummings, anchor of The Morning News on NewsChannel 9, will be among the chairs.
The campaign begins in April.
