Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Vera House
has secured $350,000 in federal funding to help combat domestic violence in Central New York.
Central New York congressman Dan Maffei announced the federal grant on Tuesday as part of the renewal of the Violence Against Women Act.
Vera House says it is thrilled to receive the money and will use it to help expand the work to engage men and boys in efforts to end domestic and sexual violence.
Vera House currently provides shelter, advocacy, and counseling services for victims of domestic and sexual violence.
