Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Water is back on for residents near the Cortland Avenue and Alexander Avenue intersection in Syracuse. City personnel had to shut down water service Monday morning.

Crews were called to the area before 8:30 a.m.

Initially, they believed a water-main break had occurred in the area, but discovered that the leak came from a hydrant branch.

Water service has since been restored to the impacted South Side neighborhoods.
