Camillus (WSYR-TV) - Changes could be on the way for the West Genesee School District.

On Thursday, district residents will have an opportunity to learn more about a plan to possibly change the schools students attend. In addition, the plan could pave the way for full day kindergarten in the district.

The plan was devised to match the district’s changing population, which has created an imbalance in the schools’ populations at both the middle schools and all of the district’s elementary schools. Some buildings have twice as many students as others.

“It could involve moving students, it could involve moving teachers…we’ll have to see. My guess is, is that when the process is completed by May there will probably be five or six scenarios for the board of education to consider,” said West Genesee Schools Superintendent Chris Brown.

Any changes the district makes would not likely go into effect until fall of 2013.
