Skaneateles (WSYR-TV) -- A 69-year-old Skaneateles woman is dead after a crash at the intersection of State Route 321 and Mottville Road in the town of Skaneateles Thursday.

The accident happened just before 6 p.m., according to State Police.

An investigation found that 69-year-old Linda B. Snider, of Skaneateles, failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign when she was struck by 22-year-old Brittany C. Barrigar, of Elbridge.

Both women were taken to the hospital, where Snider later succumbed to injuries suffered in the crash, police said.

Barringer has since been treated and released from the hospital.

An investigation is ongoing.
