Hastings (WSYR-TV) – A Pennellville woman has died after her bicycle was hit by a vehicle Friday night in the Town of Hastings.

Oswego County Sheriff's Deputies responded with the Caughdenoy Fire Department at 6:21 p.m. along County Route 33, west of County Route 12, near the Red Onion Grocery and Pizzeria.

Deputies say a car was being driven south on County Route 33 when it left the road and made contact with a bicycle.

Mary Ann Nolan, 54, of Pennellville was riding the bike.  She was taken by SOVAC to Upstate University Hospital, where she later died.

Nolan's husband says she was training for a Tour de Cure bike race next year when she was hit.  Nolan was going to sponsor her husband, who has diabetes.

Nolan worked at St. Joseph's Hospital for 25 years, where her husband says she was loved by everyone.

The accident is under investigation.
