Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Police say a 20-year-old Syracuse man was on drugs and driving without a license when he drove the wrong way on Route 690 eastbound and Interstate 81 southbound Friday night.
It was about 7:30 p.m. when police responded to reports of a wrong way driver on 690 eastbound, near Teall Avenue.
The driver, identified as Kyari Tyson, eventually stopped in the passing lane of 81 southbound near the city of Syracuse line, police said. Tyson was ordered to get out of his vehicle and was subsequently arrested.
Police say Tyson appeared disoriented at the time of his arrest.
Tyson was ticketed for driving the wrong way on a one-way street and unlicensed operation. He’s been charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, reckless operation and driving while ability impaired by drugs.
No one was injured during the incident, police said.
