Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – While no one in New York State won the Mega Millions jackpot on Friday, there were plenty of tickets sold in New York winning thousands of dollars each.
Two winning tickets worth $10,000 were sold in Central New York. One was sold at a Sunoco station in Chittenango and another at a Citgo in Rome. Those third place tickets had four of the five numbers, plus the mega ball.
On Monday, lottery officials said the final jackpot for Friday's drawing was increased to $656 million after all ticket sales were counted. It had been listed at $640 million.
A ticket sold at a Rochester Wegmans location was one of 17 sold in New York to hit the second place level, having five correct numbers, with a prize amount of $250,000. No tickets sold in Central New York won second place prizes.
4,535 tickets sold in New York hit the forth place prize of $150, with four of five numbers correct. No list was provided of locations that sold those tickets, so it’s not known if any were sold in Central New York.
