Cicero (WSYR-TV) -- Incumbent Democrat Judy Boyke lost to Republican challenger Jim Corl in the race for town Supervisor in Cicero. Corl won by a margin of 60 percent to 40 percent.

NewsChannel 9 caught up with Corl after his victory Tuesday night and he said, "I feel fantastic... We've worked very hard. We've listened to the residents in the town of Cicero. We had an excellent, positive message, which has resonated and led us to victory tonight."

Much of Corl's campaign focused on issues such as saving tax dollars, looking at sharing services with other municipalities and encouraging commercial growth within the town.

A big issue in the town of Cicero has been the ongoing discussion concerning the police department – should it stay or should it go.

Corl's in favor of keeping the police force intact in the town. He said, "We certainly need a strong police force within the town. It's a growing town and residents want that safety. I believe at this point there hasn’t been enough research as to what the repercussions would be if we didn’t have a police force."
