Police: Woman Tried To Smuggle Drugs Into WNY Prison
Attica, N.Y. (AP) – Authorities say a 36-year-old Rochester woman has been charged with attempting to smuggle drugs into Attica Correctional Facility.
State police say Yomarie Cosme was arrested on Dec. 1 after she was caught trying to smuggle multiple balloon packages of heroin and marijuana to a prisoner during an inmate visitation at the Wyoming County facility.
Officials say she has been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and promoting prison contraband.
Cosme was released from the county jail after posting $5,000.
