CLARENCE, N.Y. (AP) — Accident investigators say an 18-year-old driver who died in a weekend crash that also killed his three teenage passengers was traveling at 90 mph when he passed a stop sign and collided with a minivan.

Erie County Sheriff's Sgt. Scott Joslyn says witness accounts ruled out the possibility Viktor Shapiro was drag racing when he crashed Sunday night at an intersection in the Buffalo suburb of Clarence. Shapiro, along with Megan Schnoor and Amanda Slisz, both 16, and 19-year-old Mark Brown were killed. All were from Amherst.

Investigators found no evidence of alcohol use at the scene.

Joslyn says the minivan was traveling at the 55 mph limit when it hit Shapiro's Nissan. The minivan's passenger, Bonnie Grimmer, remains hospitalized with a hip injury. Her husband Mark suffered minor injuries.
