FBI: Checking More Backgrounds On Gun Buyers
(CNN) - According to the FBI, it handled a record number of background checks last month for Americans seeking to purchase guns.
This follows the Connecticut school shootings as well as talks on gun control legislation.
The FBI conducted more than 2.7 million background checks for gun purchases in December.
President Obama says he will push for new gun control legislation, including a possible ban on some semiautomatic weapons.
