Albany, N.Y. — U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer is asking Google Maps to blur out images of people in its newest data collection, which includes photographs from planes.

Schumer calls them "spy planes" and says they're powerful enough to collect images of people at their homes, perhaps while sunbathing in the backyard.

He wants the images blurred and the right for people to opt out of being shown.

A Google spokeswoman says the images are not sharp resolution and there is no need to blur the pictures. She also says there's no need to provide an option to be deleted from images because the resolution isn't clear enough to identify individuals.
