Medicare Waste Looks Monumental
Medicare reportedly paid billions of taxpayer dollars to nursing homes that failed federal quality of care rules.
A new report from Health and Human Services says Medicare paid more than $5 billion to skilled nursing facilities in 2009.
Patients went to substandard facilities for care-- roughly one-out-of-three times.
The facilities had been marked as poor quality or they had failed federal inspections.
