Rochester/Finger Lakes N.Y. (AP) — New York transportation officials are reporting snowy and icy conditions on many upstate New York roads as temperatures slowly climb toward the freezing mark.

Most of the major highways are clear, with crews out clearing the remnants of the winter storm that rolled through the region on Monday and overnight.

Drizzle, slick roads and fog slowed the early commute Tuesday morning in some Rochester areas and the Finger Lakes.

Western New York could see thunderstorms and temperatures near 50 Tuesday afternoon as a warm front moves east, bringing rain to much of upstate through Wednesday.
