ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - The office of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo says at least five people have died in New York state because of the storm lashing the area.

Spokesman Richard Azzopardi confirmed the deaths Monday evening.

The deaths include a man who died when a tree fell on his home in Queens. Authorities say it happened shortly before 7 p.m. in the Flushing section.
