Rochester, N.Y. - Starting Friday, Feb. 15, people in Monroe County with pistol permits can get forms allowing them to opt out of having their information made public.

State police say it will keep information such as a person's name and address--private.

Otherwise, the information would be made public under the state's Freedom of Information law.

County clerks are sending out the forms in the mail and online. They also keep forms in the Monroe County Clerk's office.
