Pretoria, South Africa (AP) - The prosecution in the murder case against South African Olympic runner Oscar Pistorius said it had no idea the lead detective is facing criminal charges himself.

Detective Hilton Botha is charged with attempted murder in an October 2011 shooting.

Prosecutors said they don't know how the case against Botha would affect the Pistorius case.
