Webster, N.Y. - The deadly shootings in Webster took place one month ago today.

Lt. Mike Chiapperini and Tomasz Kaczowka were shot and killed when responding to a fire
on Lake Road in Webster.

The fire turned out to be an ambush which took the lives of the first responders.

Ted Scardino and Joe Hofstetter, two firefighters who survived, are both recovering at home and undergoing physical therapy.

Earlier this week, the Rochester Police Department and Rochester Fire Department donated part of the money raised in their annual "Hometown Heroes" hockey game to the victims' families.

Local businesses and groups have independently raised money for families of the victims.
