U.S.A./Nationwide - There's a new, federal push to force health plans to cover autism treatment.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recently released guidelines leaving it up to states to require coverage of autism-related health needs.

However, New York and 31 other states already require coverage.

New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is among a group of lawmakers calling for federally mandated autism coverage.
