North Tonawanda, N.Y. (AP) - The Coast Guard has rescued a boater who reported that his craft was taking on water.

The man called 911 Sunday afternoon reporting that his boat was flooding in the Niagara River near North Tonawanda. Dispatchers called the Coast Guard station in Buffalo, which sent a crew to investigate.

The Coast Guard boat crew arrived on the scene to find the vessel's de-watering pumps were keeping up with the flooding and the man wasn't injured. The mariner told them he forgot to put his boat's plug in before getting under way.

The Coast Guard towed the man's vessel to Isle View Park in Tonawanda.

The man's name wasn't released.
