Rochester, N.Y. – State and local police agencies are teaming up to enforce seatbelt laws.
More patrols will be on the roads starting today as part of the state’s annual “Click It Or Ticket” campaign. During the two-week campaign police will enforce a zero-tolerance policy for drivers and passengers caught not wearing their seatbelt. If you’re seen without a seatbelt, you will get a ticket.
Special checkpoints will also be set up across the state to increase enforcement.
State Police say 91-percent of all drivers that were checked during last year’s campaign were wearing their seatbelt.
