Rochester, N.Y. - A 27-year old Rochester man is being charged with arson in a fire that injured three firefighters.

The Arson Task Force has charged David. M. Borreggine with 3rd degree arson and three counts of 2nd degree assault for a fire in the city.

The fire took place on September 14 around 4 a.m. at 271 McNaughton Street. Flames ripped through the single-family residence, bringing heavy damage to the first floor. One firefighter fell through the floor, landing on top of two other firefighters. All three are currently off-duty and recovering from their injuries.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

The Arson Task Force determined that the fire was set using an ignitable liquid.

Borreggine is currently in the Monroe County Jail and was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
