Man uses Christmas tree to attack father

A man in Florida has been arrested for trying to assault his dad with a Christmas tree.

Authorities say the man, who lives with his parents, threw the 3-foot tree at his father but missed. He then turned his attention to the 5lb steel base to use in the attack.

Police say he was subdued by both parents before he could unleash the base.

The son is being charged with felony assault.

Hunter becomes the hunted

A hunter who shot a large deer found himself on the receiving end of an unexpected backlash from the animal which he thought was dead.

Randy Goodman thought he had killed a 240 lb buck after shooting it with two shots from his rifle while hunting in Missouri. But, just as he began to look at his kill, the deer jumped to its feet.

The buck turned the table on the hunter knocking him to the ground and attacking him with his antlers.

After about "15 seconds of hell," Goodman says he was able to squeeze off a couple more shots, finally killing the deer.

He drove himself to the hospital where he received seven staples in his head.

Walrus plays the saxophone

A walrus has become a star attraction at a zoo in Istanbul, Turkey by learning to play the saxophone.

Sara the walrus grasps the instrument between her flippers and plays one note.

Sara's trainer has also taught her to blow a whistle, catch a rose thrown at her and she has even become adept at games with balls and hoops.

Woman calls police after husband takes Viagra

An 82-year-old Italian man who took a Viagra pill scared his wife so much she called the police.

His worried spouse feared he would have a heart attack.

The man's wife was quoted by police as saying, "So much passion at the age of 82, with all the aches and pains he has, could prove lethal."

Police say the man was "furious" when they arrived but calmed down after relatives arrived.

Police say they left the family to resolve the situation.

Men's mag loses 130,000 inflatable breasts

Australian men's magazine Ralph has lost 130,000 inflatable breasts intended as a free gift for its January issue.

The publication's editor has urged anyone with information about the missing breasts, said to be worth $127,500 to contact the magazine.

A spokeswoman says the container with the items left docks in Beijing as scheduled but the container was empty when it arrived in Sydney.

The magazine's editor says it's difficult to determine where they are but "if anyone finds any washed up on a beach, please let us know."

Clean people are 'less judgmental'

A new study shows that when a person feels physically clean, he or she cuts others more moral slack.

The findings, to be published in the December 2009 issue of The Journal Psychological Science, add to past research that has shown a link between physical warmth and generosity as well as physical chill and social isolation.

Other past research has shown that sins seem to nudge people to clean themselves, a phenomenon the researchers dubbed the Macbeth effect after Shakespeare's murderess who tried scrubbing her hands to clean off imaginary blood.

Man banned from toilet shop

A desperate shopper has been banned from a bathroom shop in Germany after he accidentally used a display toilet.

Heinz Kessel dashed into the store in Bochum and before he realized it, he was relieving himself in a toilet that wasn't connected to the plumbing.

Store clerks realized something was wrong when they say they discovered a horrible smell in their shop. After a search of the store, the found Kessel desperately trying to flush the display toilet.

Management closed down the shop until the mess could be cleaned.

Kessel was given the cleaning bill.

Woman finds 14 snakes in her home

An Australian woman thought she was having a nightmare when she found 14 carpet pythons in her bedroom.

Esther Honegger found one curled around her bed's headboard, one around the bottom of a chair, one in the hallway outside her bedroom, one on the railing and another on the step.

A snake catcher managed to catch seven of the snakes that same day. He returned the next morning after Honegger found five more.

She found two more later that afternoon.

Finally, you may kiss the bride

A pair of abstinence teachers has kissed for the first time, at their wedding.

The couple wanted to practice what they preached so they waited a whole year before their first smooch.

Claudaniel Fabien and Melody LaLuz sealed their marriage vows with their first few kisses after the minister announced, "Now, you may kiss the bride."

The couple planned to honeymoon in the Bahamas before returning to Chicago.

Sarkozy voodoo dolls given okay

A French appeals court has ruled that voodoo dolls of President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni may be sold as long as they carry a label saying they are offensive to him.

The judge ruled the dolls fall within the limits of free expression.

He also said the dolls "constitute an offense to the dignity of Mr. Sarkozy."

The manufacturer said in a statement it had asked retailers who have the dolls in stock to contact them to arrange for the special tags to be delivered.
