A Brazilian man surprised his friends and family by turning up at his own funeral.

Relatives had identified Ademir Jorge Goncalves as the victim of a car crash the day before but police say they did have trouble because the corpse was badly disfigured.

Goncalves showed up after villagers saw him walking on the street and informed him that his funeral was going on.

He had spent the night drinking with his friends.

Some relatives had questioned if the body really was Goncalves but since others said it was him they went ahead with the funeral.

The body was later correctly identified and buried. 

A Buddhist bank robber has been refused permission for his cat to visit him in jail - even though he says it's the reincarnation of his mom.

Peter Koenig is serving a five year sentence for armed robberies in Germany and demanded the right for his cat Gisela to visit him.

Koenig says, "I know it is mummy. She looks after me just the way she did. I need to see her like other prisoners see their wives and children."

A court denied Koenig saying Koenig could not "furnish proof that his deceased mother has been reborn in a cat."

The court says Koenig can write to Gisela. 

A bridegroom marked the end of his bachelor days by arriving at his wedding in London in a coffin.

Pat Vincent made the unusual arrival to his wedding to Jacqueline Brick. But, he didn't stop there.

After the nuptials, Vincent jumped back in the wooden box and was taken by train to the reception.

He says "it was brilliant," but there's no word on the reaction from his new bride. 

A Wisconsin woman called to report a drunk driver and revealed she was the driver in question.

The Wisconsin woman called 911 to report that someone was driving really drunk down a road. When asked by the dispatcher if she was following them, the woman said, "I am them."

She reportedly said that she didn't want to hurt anyone and that she was drunk from drinking all night long.

The dispatcher was able to get the woman to pull over. Police say her blood-alcohol level was double the legal limit.

A Facebook search for the owner of a lost camera has ended in success.

More than 230,000 people joined the Facebook group called Needle In A Haystack to try and reunite a camera with its owner.

An Australian man, Danny Cameron, set up the group after he found the camera on the Greek Island of Mykonos. He said he started the group with the theory that anyone can be contacted within "six degrees of separation."

Now three friends in London have come forward. They say it's not a hoax and that a friend truly did lose her camera. They say it's "an amazing story, unbelievable."

The group has now been closed. Cameron posted one last item congratulating everyone who joined, thanking them, and saying there was "nothing more to see here...pop the champagne!!"

A Halloween trick or treater in Ohio may have gotten a bigger treat than expected - a diamond ring.

The woman says her three diamond anniversary ring slipped off as she was passing out candy. She says she noticed the ring was spinning around, because she had just had it enlarged, but never thought it would slip off.

The woman says she called all her friends hoping one of the kids found it when they poured out all their treats.

So far she hasn't had any luck but she is hoping the ring will find its way back to her.

A new study claims eating a diet high in processed food can increase the risk of depression.

A team from University College London conducted a survey of the diet of 3,500 middle-aged civil servants and found those who ate plenty of vegetables, fruit and fish actually had a lower risk of depression.

They split the participants into two types of diet, those who ate a diet largely based on whole foods, which includes lots of fruit, vegetables and fish, and those who ate a mainly processed food diet, such as sweetened desserts, fried food, processed meat, refined grains and high-fat dairy products.

After accounting for factors such as gender, age, education, physical activity, smoking habits and chronic diseases, they found a significant difference in future depression risk with the different diets.

Those who ate the most whole foods had a 26 percent lower risk of future depression than those who at the least whole foods.

By contrast people with a diet high in processed food had a 58 percent higher risk of depression than those who ate very few processed foods.

A wildlife officer who planned to bring a large alligator into his daughter's school for show-and-tell was left red-faced when the creature escaped.

Stan Kirkland, a spokesman for the Florida wildlife commission, says officials think the 5-foot alligator is in a Panhandle pond. Authorities weren't able to capture the gator Friday.

Searchers scoured a wooded area surrounding the school Friday afternoon after the alligator jumped out of the man's vehicle with its mouth taped shut.

Kirkland says alligators have "amazing" jumping ability and that allowed it to escape.

Police in Cyprus want to know why a passenger on a plane preparing for takeoff suddenly jumped up from his seat, opened a rear exit, slid down an emergency chute and ran away.

A police spokesman said the 28-year-old sailor, who holds a Greek passport, slid down the chute, then jumped the Larnaca airport fence and disappeared.

He also didn't release the man's name before a formal arrest warrant is issued on charges of breaking civil aviation safety regulations and entering a prohibited airport space without permission.

The Airbus with 158 passengers aboard was on a scheduled flight to Athens.
