Recap: Towson vs. Delaware
Towson, MD (Sports Network) - Jarvis Threatt came off the bench to register a game-high 29 points as Delaware again dismissed Towson, 76-69, in a Colonial Athletic Association matchup at the Towson Center.
Threatt, who added five rebounds and four steals, converted 16-of-19 shots at the free-throw line for the Blue Hens (16-12, 11-6 CAA) as they posted their seventh straight win. Also scoring in double figures were Devon Saddler and Josh Brinkley with 17 and 12 points, respectively, while Jamelle Hagins came up a point shy of a double-double with his 11 rebounds.
The Tigers (1-29, 1-16) were paced by Marcus Damas who dropped in 21 points, Kris Walden 18 and Robert Nwankwo 12 points to go along with a game-high 14 rebounds, but still Towson suffered a seventh consecutive setback.
Towson actually led by as many as five points in the first half, but the team shot just 31.0 percent from the floor, en route to a 33-25 deficit at the break. Delaware also had trouble finding the mark from the floor at just 33.3 percent, missing all 10 three-point tries, but a 13-of-15 shooting effort at the charity stripe set up the Hens for the second half.
After intermission Delaware left no doubt by knocking down 63.2 percent from the field and again thrived at the charity stripe (17-of-22).
The Hens forced 14 turnovers and traded those in for 15 points, not to mention outscoring the hosts by a margin of 30-12 at the free-throw line.Game Notes
