Recap: Eastern Mich vs. Ball State

Ypsilanti, MI (Sports Network) - Darrell Lampley scored 13 points and dished out eight assists to lead the Eastern Michigan Eagles to a 61-50 victory over the Ball State Cardinals, in a Mid-American Conference clash at the Convocation Center.

For the Eagles (13-16, 8-6 MAC), Antonio Green added 10 points while Matt Balkema grabbed a team-high eight.

Jarrod Jones recorded a double-double for the Cardinals (13-14, 4-10) with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Tyrae Robinson handed out 10 assists.

Ball State shot 45 percent from the floor to start the game, including 3-of-7 from three-point range. EMU made just 25.9 percent of its field goals, including 3-of-10 from beyond the arc, as the Cardinals took a 22-20 lead into the break.

After halftime, both teams shot well, with each connecting on 50 percent from the field. The real difference in the second half was at the free-throw line, where the Eagles held a 17-3 advantage. EMU scored the first nine points of the half and never trailed again, as they swept the season series.

The Eagles finished the game making 20-of-23 from the free-throw line, while the Cardinals shot just 4-of-11. Ball State held the advantage in points in the paint, 26-18.
