Recap: Albany vs. Rider
Albany, NY (Sports Network) - Mike Black scored a game-high 23 points as the Albany Great Danes registered a 70-61 win over the Rider Broncs as part of BracketBusters weekend at SEFCU Arena.
Also scoring in double figures for the Great Danes (17-13) as they won their second game in three tries, were Jacob Iati and Jayson Guerrier with 20 and 15 points, respectively.
The Broncs (11-18) were paced by Jeff Jones who dropped in 18 points, while Novar Gadson chipped in 11 and Jonathon Thompson 10 points, as the team lost a third straight contest.
Albany connected on an impressive 56.0 percent from the floor in the first half, including 7-of-12 behind the three-point line, which allowed the hosts to put up a 39-30 advantage at the break.
In the second half the Great Danes dropped down to 39.1 percent from the field, but still the hosts were matched evenly with the Broncs in the period, allowing Albany to take the nine-point win.
The difference in the meeting came at the free-throw line where Rider was outscored by a 13-4 margin.Game Notes
