Recap: Wichita State vs. Detroit
Wichita, KS (Sports Network) - Malcolm Armstead scored 20 points and dished out six assists for Wichita State as the Shockers defeated the Detroit Titans, 94-79, in a BracketBusters matchup at Charles Koch Arena.
Cleanthony Early and Carl Hall each had 18 points and seven rebounds and Demetric Williams added 14 points for Wichita state (24-5) which has won five straight.
Ray McCallum had a game-high 29 points,. Nick Minnerath poured in 25 and Doug Anderson chipped in 11 for Detroit (18-10) which had won six of its previous seven contests.
After halftime the Shockers again shot better than 50 percent from the floor while hitting 16-of-21 from the free-throw line to close out the victory.
Wichita State had just nine turnovers in the contest while assisting on 21 field goals. Detroit outscored the Shockers, 30-18, from 3-point range.
