New York (WSYR-TV) – Dion Waiters may have never started for the Orange, but he will soon play in the top league in the world after being drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in Thursday's NBA Draft.

After declaring early for the NBA draft, Waiters’ stock steadily climbed. And now the Big East’s Sixth Man of the Year is an NBA Lottery pick.

Waiters joins only a handful of SU players to drafted in the top five, including Derrick Coleman and Carmelo Anthony.

Waiters averaged 12.6 points per game his sophomore year with the Orange.

Just a few hours after he was drafted, a Dion Waiters jersey was posted on eBay. The ad claims it's the platinum one worn by Dion last season. The asking price: $1,000.
