Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – For just the second time in the last 10 years, the Syracuse University football team has hopes of finishing the season with eight wins.

Even if the Orange lose to West Virginia in the Pinstripe Bowl on Saturday, businesses in the University area say the team’s success has meant victory.

Two years ago, SU beat Kansas State in Pinstripe Bowl and fans and merchants remember the win well.

Ever since the Orange received this year’s bowl invitation, stores have been stocking up on apparel and other gear.

Manny’s on the hill has already sold out of Pinstripe Bowl hats and only a few t-shirts celebrating the occasion are still available.

"They are excited because they sort of got off to a slow start, and I think a lot of people had given up on them, but they are finishing strong,” said Manny’s general manager Mike Theiss. “There is optimism going into next year so people are pretty exciting I think.”

Kickoff is set for 3:15 p.m.
