Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Otto’s Army will be in Atlanta for the Final Four and they’re thanking NewsChannel 9 for helping them get there. The group of students says they’ve been given two buses to head down to Georgia – free of charge through the Student Association.NewsChannel 9 first aired their story Tuesday night.
Otto’s Army -- the loudest fans in the stands, willing to camp out in the cold for hours to secure seats at the dome -- was struggling to find affordable transportation to make their way to the game.
The Student Association says the buses are on a first come, first serve and the fans will have to pay for a hotel.
Ben Glidden, the president of Otto’s Army, tweeted his gratitude Thursday night, saying: “Thanks so much to @NewsChannel9 for giving @OttosArmy some exposure last night. Wouldn't have gotten the buses without it.”
SU’s Student Association Tweeted its final information about its bus runs to Georgia for the Final Four on Thursday.
According to the Student Association, the two buses will be leaving from the main (front entrance) to Schine Student Center at 5 p.m. sharp this Friday, April 5.
The bus will depart Atlanta (CNN Center) for the return trip to SU at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9.
Ground transportation, lodging and food are the student’s responsibility.
tudents who have proof that they have purchased a game ticket will be able to get their free ticket at the Schine box office. There is a one ticket per student limit.
