Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – According to an Associated Press reporter, the Cleveland Browns will be holding other interviews for their head coach position and Syracuse University coach Doug Marrone will not be in their plans.

Tom Withers of the Associated Press Tweeted on Friday, "Understanding is Doug Marrone not leaving 'Cuse."

The Associated Press also reported that the Browns will interview Oregon's Chip Kelly.

On Thursday evening, the Cleveland Plain Dealer’s Mary Kay Cabot reported that Browns owner Jimmy Haslam and CEO Joe Banner interviewed Marrone in Arizona.

The Browns were one of seven NFL franchises that fired head coaches on Monday when they let go of Pat Shurmur.

According to ESPN’s Adam Shefter, Marrone was set to also interview with the Buffalo Bills.

The Bills fired head coach Chan Gailey on Monday.

Marrone has gone 25-25 in his four seasons at SU. He has also guided the Orange to two Pinstripe Bowl wins in New York City.
