Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Syracuse University athletic director Daryl Gross was interviewed on Upon Further Review Wednesday where he sang the praises of Louisville, but the conversation soon turned to Doug Marrone and his status at SU.
NewsChannel 9 reported Monday that Marrone’s name has been brought up in NFL circles as a potential candidate for certain head coaching jobs. He’s also been mentioned as a possible target at the college level with the opening at Tennessee.
NewsChannel 9’s Steve Infanti and ESPN Radio’s Steve Neikam asked Gross where things stand for Marrone in terms of a contract extension with SU. Reading between the lines, it sounds like that may already be a done deal.
