Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse University football fans can now circle dates for what games they will be watching next year outside of conference play.
The Orange released its 2014 non-conference schedule on Wednesday, a slate that includes games against Villanova, Maryland, Central Michigan, and Notre Dame.
SU will play the Fighting Irish at MetLife Stadium in New York City on Sept. 27. SU last played Notre Dame in the Big Apple in 1963, winning 14-7.
The Orange will open the 2014 campaign against Villanova in the Carrier Dome on Aug. 30 and will also host Maryland on Sept. 20. At that point, the Terrapins will have moved from the ACC to the Big Ten.
They will play at Central Michigan on Sept. 13.
In addition, SU will play ACC games against Duke, Florida State, Louisville, and North Carolina State at the Dome.
The road portion of the ACC slate includes games at Boston College, Clemson, Pittsburgh, and Wake Forest.
Fans who reserve 2014 season tickets for $75 each, will receive two complimentary tickets to a November non-conference men's basketball home game.
