Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The Syracuse University men’s basketball team was elevated to No. 6 in Associated Press poll on Monday morning.
After falling to No. 9 in both major polls last week, the Orange won two straight in the Carrier Dome, beating Notre Dame 63-47 and St. John’s 77-58.
Senior forward James Southerland returned to the court for win over the Red Storm after sitting due to eligibility issues.
Indiana retained its top spot in the AP poll. Duke, Miami, Michigan, and Gonzaga rounded out the top five in order.
Michigan State, Arizona, and Kansas State followed the Orange in the top 10.
SU’s next game is Wednesday when it will play UConn in Hartford, Conn.
