SU men’s soccer advances in NCAA Tournament after overtime win over VCU

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The Syracuse University men’s soccer team rallied to beat VCU 3-2 after two overtimes on Sunday, keeping its NCAA Tournament run alive.

The Orange needed to overcome a two-goal deficit to upset the No. 19-ranked Rams in Richmond, Va.

SU’s Louis Clark scored the game winner in the 108th minute. Ted Cribley assisted on the goal.

Clark also scored SU’s first goal of the match in the 21st minute and assisted on Stefanos Stamoulactos’ equalizer in the 30th minute.

With the win, SU advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament and will travel to Georgetown on Sunday. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
