New York, NY (Sports Network/WSYR-TV) - James Southerland was lights out from beyond the arc and No. 19 Syracuse snapped out of its funk with a strong second half to down Seton Hall, 75-63, in second round play of the Big East Tournament.

Syracuse (24-8) dropped four of its final five regular season contests, but Southerland tallied 20 points on 6-for-9 shooting from 3-point range on Wednesday to get the Orange back on track and set up a quarterfinals matchup with fourth-seeded Pittsburgh on Thursday.

C.J. Fair had 14 of his 16 points over the final 20 minutes, Brandon Triche donated 17 points, and Michael Carter-Williams facilitated the offense with 14 assists in the victory.

The Pirates (15-17) jumped out to the early lead, but struggled to keep pace in the second half. Aaron Crosby scored a game-high 22 points, Eugene Teague added 13 and Fuquan Edwin finished with 11 points in defeat.

The current edition of the tournament is SU’s last as a member of the Big East Conference.
