SU picked to finish second in the Big East

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The Syracuse University men's basketball has been picked to finish second in the Big East by the conference’s coaches.

Louisville was the unanimous pick to finish at the top of the conference by the coaches in the preseason poll.

The Orange received 175 points coming off a season in which they recorded the best record in program history at 34-3.

SU won the conference’s regular season title last year, going 17-1 in Big East play. In the postseason, SU advanced to the East Regional final, in which they finally lost to Ohio State.

Senior guard Brandon Triche and junior forward CJ Fair are returning to the court for the Orange this season.

Notre Dame was picked to finish third in the conference, followed by Cincinnati.
