The Minnesota Twins exercised the 2011 option on the contract of outfielder Michael Cuddyer.

The 30-year-old Cuddyer, who signed a three-year, $24 million contract in January 2008, hit .276 with 32 homers and 94 RBI last season.

The Twins had until five days after the conclusion of the World Series to exercise Cuddyer's option or pay him a $1 million buyout.

A first-round draft pick of the Twins in 1997, Cuddyer is a career .270 hitter with 107 homers and 429 RBI.
