Winnipeg, MB (Sports Network) - Chase Budinger recorded 21 points as the Minnesota Timberwolves downed the Detroit Pistons, 95-76, in NBA preseason action from MTS Centre.

Derrick Williams posted 18 points while Dante Cunningham totaled 12 points and 14 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who improved to 3-2 in the exhibition season. Nikola Pekovic added 14 points for the hosts.

Rodney Stuckey led the way with 21 points for the Pistons, who fell to 3-4 in their preseason course. Greg Monroe and Kyle Singler each contributed 11 points in a losing effort.

Minnesota limited Detroit to 27 percent shooting in the first half and led 52-29 after 24 minutes.

The Pistons pulled within eight thanks to a 16-1 run through the first portion of the third quarter, but were down 68-53 heading to the fourth. The T-Wolves kept their foes at bay in the final quarter.
