Falcons make a change at fullback

Flowery Branch, GA (Sports Network) - The Atlanta Falcons have released fullback Lousaka Polite and signed fullback Mike Cox.

Polite has played in six games for Atlanta this season, catching one ball for eight yards.

The nine-year veteran has 95 carries for 296 yards and a touchdown, while adding 42 receptions for 241 yards and a score in 82 career games with Dallas, Chicago, Miami, New England and Atlanta.

Cox, who has yet to play this season, appeared in nine contests for the Falcons in 2011-12.

Entering his fifth season after going undrafted out of Georgia Tech, Cox has four career carries for three yards and a touchdown, and 24 catches for 133 yards over 48 games with Kansas City and Atlanta.

The Falcons also signed guard/center Jacques McClendon to the practice squad on Wednesday.
