Breanna Stewart tabbed as conference preseason player of the year
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Former Northstar great Breanna Stewart has garnered yet another honor to go along with her NCAA women’s basketball Championship and Final Four Most Outstanding Player awards – along with all of her other accolades.
UConn’s Stewart has been named the American Athletic Conference’s Preseason Player of the Year.
As a freshman, the Cicero-North Syracuse High School graduate was selected as the Final Four Most Outstanding Player.
She was also selected to the Big East Conference’s All Freshman and All Big East Tournament teams.
Stewart was also named All Big East Honorable Mention.
The American Athletic Conference is comprised of programs that did not join the basketball-only Big East after the conference split in the wake of multiple defections to other leagues.
