C-NS Alum Patrick Corbin Called Up to MLB

SYRACUSE (WSYR-TV) -- The Arizona Diamondbacks have called up former C-NS pitcher Patrick Corbin from Double-A Mobile. He will join the D-Backs' rotation and start Monday against the Miami Marlins. It will be the MLB debut for the kid from Clay.

Corbin was a 2nd round pick of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in 2009, before being traded to Arizona. He is 2-0 with a 1.67 ERA this year, in four starts with the Mobile BayBears. He nearly made the big league club at the beginning of the season, after a stellar Spring Training.

The Diamondbacks visit Miami Monday at 12:40pm.
