Crunch lose season opener to the Binghamton Senators
Binghamton (WSYR-TV) – In their first game of their 20th season, the Syracuse Crunch lost to the Binghamton Senators 4 - 3 in overtime on Saturday night.
Two of the Crunch's goals were scored by Dana Tyrell.
Evan Rankin scored the third goal for Syracuse.
The Senators were down 3 - 1 in the third period before scoring twice to force overtime.
Binghamton defenseman Cody Ceci scored the game-winner 2:47 into the overtime period.
Crunch goalie Cedrick Desjardins made 35 saves.
Binghamton goaltender Nathan Lawson made 32 saves.
The next time the Crunch take the ice, they will be at home.
They will play the Rochester Americans in their home opener at the War Memorial on Saturday, October 12.
