Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Former Syracuse University quarterback Donovan McNabb's #5 has been retired.
The school held a ceremony at halftime of Saturday's game between the Orange and Wake Forest.
McNabb was joined by his former teammates as his jersey number was unveiled to be hanging in the rafters.
McNabb was named 1st Team All-Big East all four years
he was the starting quarterback from 1995 - 1998.
"It does make you feel old," said McNabb. "But hey, 36 is the new 26."
"The exciting part for me is coming out here seeing Syracuse football, seeing that blue and orange all across the field, and to be here with former teammates."
McNabb still holds the school record for career touchdown passes with 77. He also passed for 8,389 yards.
