Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – With the NBA draft just a couple of days away, former Syracuse University guard Scoop Jardine underwent surgery on an injured foot on Tuesday.

SU men’s basketball coach Jim Boeheim stressed that Jardine has worked out for 18 teams already, but did note that now the former guard will not be able to participate in summer league basketball.

The summer league would give Jardine more exposure for NBA teams.

Draft website DraftExpress.com anticipates that Jardine’s former teammates Dion Waiters and Fab Melo will be drafted in the first round, while they expect Kris Joseph to be picked up in the second round. The site does not anticipate that Jardine will be drafted, but he could still be selected by a team as a free agent.

“You just never know with the NBA,” Boeheim said. “You could slip in there and somebody likes you and you find a spot. Certainly, you just never know what’s going to happen with the NBA.”
