Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse University announced Tuesday that three football players have been suspended for Saturday’s game against Pittsburgh. This comes 24 hours after the team’s top wide receiver quit the team.

Defensive end Torrey Ball, running back Antwon Bailey, and offensive tackle Andrew Tiller, were suspended for “a violation of team rules.”

Monday, former wide receiver Mike Williams quit the team.

State Police say the four players were involved in a crash just before 5:30 Sunday morning on the westbound lanes of the New York State Thruway, near the town of Lenox.

Police say the vehicle, being driven by Tiller, was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer.

Tiller was transported to the hospital with back and neck injuries. The other players in the car were unhurt. Tiller has not been charged or ticketed.

Police say tickets are pending against the driver of the tractor-trailer, 26-year old Nathan Primrose of ARG Trucking.

State Police say they saw no signs of alcohol.
