Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The PGA Championship will be underway at Oak Hill Country Club near Rochester in just over a week away, but the course has already seen some golf superstars tee-up in anticipation.
2013 Open Champion Phil Mickelson played a practice round on Monday and, on Tuesday, Tiger Woods took his turn on the course.
Tiger currently sits at 14 career major wins and is looking to end a drought of 17 straight majors without a victory.
The world’s top-ranked player took to the East Course at Oak Hill Tuesday morning with his girlfriend Lindsay Vonn, his caddie, a handful of club members and a few police officers.
Tiger last played Oak Hill at the PGA Championship 10 years ago, but struggled as he finished tied for 39th place.
NewsChannel 9 will have a special airing leading up to the PGA Championship on Saturday, Aug. 3 at 7 p.m.
The special airing will feature everything golf fans need to know ahead of the last major of the 2013 PGA season and will have an interview with PGA golfer Rory McIlroy.
