Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The Iroquois Nationals have announced that they will host the FIL World Indoor Lacrosse Championship in 2015.
The six-day event will be held at the Tsha’Hon’nonyen’dakhwa’ Onondaga Nation Arena and also the First Niagara Center in Buffalo in September of that year.
They anticipate the event drawing more than 300 athletes and 15,000 fans. They also believe the event will generate nearly $4 million.
Organizers expect to draw teams from 10 to 12 nations. Australia, the Czech Republic, England, Ireland, and Slovakia all fielded teams in the 2011 event in Prague.
